Abish Kekilbayev is widely known to readers as a prose writer, but few people know that he also wrote remarkable poetry. Now, admirers of the outstanding master of words can appreciate his poetic talent. Along with the poetry collection Däuren Keskhen, the event also presented the book Kui, published in Turkish.
The solemn ceremony was dedicated to the writer's anniversary, with honorary guests including his daughter Zauzat Kekilbayeva, grandson Abyl Kekilbayev, statesman Baktykozha Izmukhambetov, academician Omirzak Ozganbayev, and renowned cultural and scientific figures.
Following the book presentation, guests were invited to participate in the international forum The Image of a Great Personality. The event was moderated by public and state figure Sauytbek Abdrakhmanov.
Colleagues, including playwright and writer Tolen Abdik and poet Svetkali Nurzhan, spoke about Abish Kekilbayev's artistic mastery, his role in Kazakh literature, and his contributions to the country's social and political life.
Forum participants also viewed a photo and book exhibition showcasing the writer's manuscripts, articles, books, and collections translated into Spanish, English, Chinese, French, and other languages.
The evening concluded with a performance of Shyngyrau (The Well), based on Abish Kekilbayev's work. The play was staged by the Mangystau Regional Theater named after N. Zhanturin. The director was Sergey Potapov, a distinguished artist of the Sakha Republic and a laureate of the Golden Mask theater award. The role of the well digger Yensep was performed by Baglan Igdirbay, while his wife's image was masterfully portrayed by Aidana Zhantakbayeva.
