On May 17, 2025, in honor of International Museum Day, the State Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the traditional cultural event "Museum Night – 2025" at a high level.
🔹 Over 15,000 people attended this special night that celebrates the golden treasury of national history and spiritual heritage. Acting Director of the Museum, Serzhan Barakhanuly, opened the event, noting that the initiative began with the Central Museum and is being held for the 20th time this year. He also highlighted the awarding of "national" status to the museum by Presidential decree as one of the year's major achievements and a recognition of the team's dedicated work.
🔹 Among the evening’s honored guests were renowned writer and public figure Zeynep Akhmetova, Director of the Cultural Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Agazade, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan and sculptor Esken Sergebaev, actor Bolat Abdilmanov, and other prominent figures in arts and culture.
🔹 One of the key moments was the traditional “Gift to the Museum” campaign, during which valuable artifacts were donated to the museum collection. Donors included composer and kuyshi Professor Seken Karimuly Turysbekov, Kazakhstan’s first professional sculptor, People’s Artist and State Prize laureate Khakimzhan Esmakhanuly Nauryzbaev, among other cultural patrons. The initiative aims to foster respect for the museum and its treasures, and to pass family and historical values on to future generations.
🔹 The evening program featured a blend of traditional and modern art. It opened with performances by the “Otyrar Sazy” orchestra named after N.Tlendiev and the “Saltanat” dance ensemble, followed by concerts from pop stars like Zhenis Yskakova, Akylbek Zhemeney, the group "Incanta" and others.
🔹 Visitors were also treated to rare musical pieces performed on instruments made by Guarneri and Stradivari. A fashion showcase from the brand “TAMEN” featuring the collections “Teniz” and “Shyraq,” modeled by ICONIC agency models, attracted great interest.
📌 The program of “Museum Night – 2025” focused on two main themes:
• “Museum – House of Spirituality”
• “Heroism and Nationhood Are One”
🔹 Exhibitions were dedicated to the 190th anniversary of Shokan Ualikhanov, the 100th anniversary of composer Nurgisa Tlendiyev (within UNESCO's framework), and the creative legacy of Akhmet and Gaziza Zhubanov. Visitors also enjoyed rare exhibits from the museum ("Zhauhar Zhadiger"), the anniversary exhibition of painters "Echoes of Inspiration," the manuscript exhibition "Still Writing..." and "Nomadic Spirit" by artist Yulia Proskur.
🔹 The event also featured interactive scientific zones, quests, quizzes, a modern souvenir exhibition in collaboration with the brand Happy Place, and a book fair from the Family Anthology Foundation.
