This decision was adopted at the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference. Kazakhstan is a co-author of the resolution adopted by UNESCO. This serves as clear evidence of the significant contribution of nomadic peoples to the world cultural heritage.

The day will be celebrated annually on September 22, during the autumn equinox. This unique initiative promotes the preservation of nomadic traditions, the recognition of their wisdom as part of humanity’s intellectual treasure, and the strengthening of intercultural dialogue.
