On the eve of Republic Day, a solemn ceremony was held to present state awards to prominent figures in culture and the arts. Artists and staff members of the Astana Opera received well-deserved medals, orders, and honorary titles from the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
For his significant contribution to the development of national culture and the arts, Tolebek Alpiev, First Deputy Director of the theatre, was awarded the Order of Barys, 3rd Class. The Order of Parasat was presented to Medet Chotabayev, leading soloist of the opera company, while Bakhtiyar Adamzhan, leading soloist of the ballet company, received the Order of Kurmet (Honor).
The honorary title “Honored Worker of Kazakhstan” was conferred upon Tatyana Vitsinskaya, leading opera soloist; Arman Urazov, leading ballet soloist; and Marzhan Zhakenova, Director of the Department of Musical and Literary Programs and Head of the K. Baiseitova Chamber Hall.
Dias Kurmangazy, leading ballet soloist, and Sultanbek Gumar, ballet soloist, were awarded the Medal “For Distinguished Labor”.
A special recognition — the Order of Dostyk, 2nd Class — was presented by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the theatre’s Artistic Director, Italian conductor Giuseppe Acquaviva, for his outstanding contribution to strengthening peace, friendship, and cooperation among nations.
