On September 20, the stage of the Astana Ballet Theatre will host a landmark event — the benefit performance of one of the theatre’s leading soloists, Farhad Buriev. Over 19 years on the ballet stage, 8 of which he dedicated to Astana Ballet, the artist has won the hearts of audiences with his talent, outstanding mastery, and profound dramatic artistry.
That evening, Farhad Buriev will appear in the legendary ballet Carmen Suite. His interpretation of the tragic role of José and the sinister image of the Corregidor has always been distinguished not only by flawless technique but also by a deep understanding of the characters’ psychology.
Throughout his career, Farhad Buriev created many unforgettable roles, including Albert in Giselle, the Prince in The Nutcracker, Ferhad and the Vizier in The Legend of Love, Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, John the Baptist in Salomé, and Qutuz in Sultan Beibars. For his achievements, he has been awarded high state honors: he is a holder of the orders Kurmet and Parasat, as well as the Mädeniet Qairatkery medal.
In addition to Carmen Suite, the audience will enjoy the vibrant Ballet Gala program, featuring highlights from world ballet classics.
