The mystical and captivating music of Carl Orff is one of the most powerful works of the 20th century, celebrating the triumph of the human spirit. The ballet Carmina Burana, choreographed by Mukaram Avakhri and Timur Zagidullin, explores human nature, the suffering of the soul, and its connection to the universe. At the heart of the ballet are two souls — a young man and a maiden — whose love must overcome temptations and trials.
Within this context appears the apple — a powerful symbol representing temptation, the gaining of wisdom through trials, and the necessity of choice. This forbidden fruit embodies the struggle between purity and desire, reminding us of the cyclical nature of life, where each decision determines the path ahead.
