By order of the Chairman of the Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Serzhan Barakhanovich Sarov has been appointed Director of the RSE “National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

🔹 Serzhan Barakhanovich Sarov has many years of experience in the field of culture and museum studies.

▫️ In 2006, he graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a degree in “History, Fundamentals of Law and Economics.” In 2020, he obtained a Master’s degree in Pedagogical Sciences from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

▫️ He began his professional career as a junior researcher at the Municipal State Public Enterprise “Museum of the History of Almaty”.

▫️ He advanced from Head of the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage to Director of the Municipal State Public Enterprise “Association of Museums of Almaty.” He also worked as an Advisor to the Director of the Municipal State Public Enterprise “Almaty Auenleri”.

From February 2023 to March 2025, he served as Deputy Director for General Affairs of the RSE “Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

▫️ From March 2025 to the present – Acting Director of the RSE “National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

▫️ Throughout his professional career, he has made a significant contribution to the development of cultural policy and museum practice in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

▫️ He has been awarded the medal “For Distinguished Labor” («Ерен еңбегі үшін»).

▫️ The leadership of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan has assigned the newly appointed Director a number of tasks related to the further development of museum infrastructure, the implementation of international exhibition projects, and the strengthening of cultural cooperation.
