On May 20–21, 2025, the national scientific and creative competition “Abish Readings” was held among talented young students.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including G. Kalimzhanova from the national scientific-practical center “Daryn”, Deputy Akim of the Mangystau region A. Orisbayev, regional education department officials, relatives of Abish Kekilbayev, members of the jury, participants and their mentors, as well as media representatives.
A total of 158 students and 22 mentors from across Kazakhstan took part in the competition.
The contest was held in four categories:

Illustration based on the works of A. Kekilbayev;

Expressive reading of prose and poetry by the author;

Creative work — research projects on A. Kekilbayev's literary legacy;
-
Stage performances based on the writer’s works.
Today, on May 21, the closing ceremony took place at the Aqtau International School (AIS).
Following the results, 72 students were awarded first, second, and third place diplomas by the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan and received gift certificates from the Meloman bookstore.
Additionally, teams that achieved the highest overall scores in all categories were awarded the title of “Best Team”, receiving official diplomas from the Ministry of Education:

1st place — Atyrau Region;

2nd place — Almaty City;

3rd place — Zhambyl Region.
