Karaganda will host a concert to mark the 100th anniversary of renowned Kazakh composer Nurgisa Tlendiyev. Six talented conductors will take part in the event, reports Kazinform.
For the anniversary celebration, the first chief conductor of the Tattimbet Academic Orchestra of Kazakh Folk Instruments and Honored Cultural Worker of Kazakhstan, Duissen Ukibay, has been invited to Karaganda. At the beginning of his career, he had the honor of working with Tlendiyev. In addition, winners of the N. Tlendiyev Conductors' Competition — Dauren Gylymov, Yerbolat Akhmediyarov, and Abulkhair Sagimbayev — will also perform on the Karaganda stage.
The concert will also feature the current chief conductor of the Tattimbet Orchestra, Distinguished Cultural Worker Yerlan Baktygerey, and the orchestra’s artistic director, Honored Cultural Worker Abugalysin Shokanbayev.
The program will open with the Tattimbet Academic Orchestra performing Ata Tolgaui. Soloists from the Kali Baizhanov Concert Association — Balgabek Smagulov, Daurenbek Arkenov, Meruesh Bashai, Syrym Khordin, Medet Osatayev, Azamat Eleusin, Rysty Rakhimzhan and others — will take the stage.
The concert will include works such as “Aqqu”, “Sagyndym Goi”, “Karlygashym”, “Aq Qusym”, “Qairan Menin Zhuregym”, “Oz Elim”, and “Qustar Ani”. The program will conclude with the classical kui Makhambet.
The concert will take place on April 8 at 18:30 at the K. S. Stanislavsky Russian Drama Theater.
The 100th anniversary of Nurgisa Tlendiyev is being celebrated across the country. Concerts, exhibitions, competitions, and festivals dedicated to the composer’s life and work are scheduled in all regions. International events are also planned: as part of Kazakhstan Culture Days in France, a concert will be held at UNESCO Headquarters, and in the United States, Carnegie Hall will host a concert and exhibition. In Beijing, audiences will hear his works at the “Qustar Qaityp Barady” concert.
It is worth noting that TURKSOY has declared 2025 the Year of Nurgisa Tlendiyev.
