World-renowned composer and pianist Steve Barakatt performed at Astana Opera in honor of International Women’s Day, reports Kazinform agency, citing the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
He was joined on stage by 125 musicians, vocalists, and ballet dancers. Steve Barakatt became the first North American composer and pianist to present his works on the stage of Astana Opera’s Grand Hall.
– The performance was a multidisciplinary artistic collaboration featuring the Symphony Orchestra, Children's Choir, and Ballet Troupe of Astana Opera, conducted by Elmar Buribaev, – the ministry explained.
As part of the Néoréalité world tour, the program featured a selection of Steve Barakatt’s most iconic compositions, including Néoréalité, "I Fly," "Homeland," "Cedars of Lebanon," "Lullaby" (UNICEF Anthem), and excerpts from his highly acclaimed symphony Ad Vitam Aeternam. Through this performance, Barakatt aims to create a deeply emotional and inspiring experience, paying tribute to the resilience, creativity, and contributions of women worldwide.
