The final of the Zarina Altynbayeva Youth Music Competition (ZAYMC 2025) took place in Almaty.
This year’s theme, “Music of Turkic Nations and Composers,” highlights the unity of Turkic countries and the continuity of their cultural traditions.
The competition was founded and artistically directed by Zarina Altynbayeva, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan and principal soloist of the Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The international jury included prominent figures of academic art from Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
For the first time, the competition received international status and introduced a new category — “Best Performance of a Work by a Turkic Composer.” In addition, a special collection titled “Anthology of the Turkic World” was published.
Out of more than 150 applications, 44 participants reached the final, and laureates and diploma holders were selected across various categories and age groups.
