On Victory Day, the capital’s audience can look forward to a premiere. On May 9, the stage of the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation will host a unique staged concert-performance dedicated to the illustrious son of the Kazakh people, the hero of the Great Patriotic War, Baurzhan Momyshuly. The production is organized by the Department of Culture of the Akimat of Astana. Ramzat Balakishiyev, a soloist of the Astana Opera company, will take part in this vibrant performance.
The audience will witness a reconstruction of the events of the harsh years of the Great Patriotic War. The performers will convey both the scale of the battles and the inner world of a man whose name became a symbol of unbreakable will and military courage. The main message of the project is to preserve the memory of the heroic feat, as it is a living responsibility for the future that each of us carries. The dramaturgy of the concert-performance is based not only on the legendary exploits of the National Hero of Kazakhstan, but also on the судьбы of frontline soldiers and home front workers who contributed to the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Astana Opera soloist Ramzat Balakishiyev will present the beloved song “Smuglyanka” by composer Anatoly Novikov, with lyrics by Yakov Shvedov — a song of remembrance about peace, which in the performance will become a symbol of youth, love, and frontline brotherhood.
The singer shared his expectations for the upcoming premiere:
“For me, it is a great honor to participate in a production dedicated to such a legendary figure as Baurzhan Momyshuly. ‘Smuglyanka’ is a wonderful song, a fragment of that era when even in the trenches people believed in a peaceful life. Through this piece, I would like to convey a gentle longing for home and remind the audience that love and hope have always been the soldier’s greatest weapons. I am grateful to the organizers for the opportunity to honor the memory of the heroes through my art,” said Ramzat Balakishiyev.
Such a large-scale project became possible thanks to the coordinated work of the creative team. Stage director – Zhuldyzbek Zhumanbay, music producer – Kuralai Aktanova, producer – Nazgul Sarybay.
The leading roles will be performed by well-known actors such as Kuandyk Kystykbayev, Bakyt Kazhybek, Asylkhan Tolepov, and Daniyar Orazayev. The performance will also feature artists Ramzat Balakishiyev, Aigul Kosanova, Zhangali Zhuzbayev, Baurzhan Isayev, Klara Tulenbayeva, Medet Salykov, Gulsim Myrzabekova, Dauren Tuleubayev, Khamit Otarbayev, Nursat Almas, Ozgeris Sherikbay, the children’s choir studio “Zhas Sarbaz” of the National Military-Patriotic Center, and the group “Art4man.”
