On February 18, the audience at the Astana Ballet Theatre will be presented with an evening of one-act ballets: Touch the Light and A Fuego Lento.
The main feature of Touch the Light is the calligraphy by the world-renowned contemporary calligrapher Pokras Lampas. The artist manually visualized the dance’s movement, while the calligraphy was projected on the screen, synchronized with the choreography and music by composer Philip Glass.
Choreographer and Artistic Director: Ilya Zhivoy
Touch the Light is a performance at the intersection of music, fashion, street art, calligraphy, and neoclassical dance, where six dancers, working at the limits of their abilities, tell a touching and bold story about the inner light, the soul, and how to find oneself in this world.
A Fuego Lento
Choreography: Ricardo Amarante
A ballet about discovering the first feelings of love and desire. The sensation of growing heat and emotional intensity slowly burns from within. A Fuego Lento is passion in every scene, wrapped in the seductive rhythms of sensual tango.
